A Family Tradition Since 1907
For over a century, The Corner House Bakery has been part of the Fareham community, with the Soothills family continuing its proud tradition of baking since the 1950s. Generations of skilled bakers and loyal staff have helped shape the business, keeping traditional methods, quality ingredients, and a warm welcome at its heart. Today, Soothills remains a family-led bakery, proud of its history and dedicated to serving the community for many years to come.

1907
Records show The Corner House Bakery serving the people of Fareham, with a tradition of baking on the premises that stretches back even earlier.
c.1950
Eric and Queenie Soothill took over the bakery, bringing their passion, hard work, and family values to what would become the Soothills name.
1966
Mr Jenkins, in partnership with Mrs Soothill , ran the bakery and Janet Jenkins, Anthony’s wife managed the shop
1993
The Soothills family grew, opening a second bakery and café in Locks Heath and welcoming a new generation of customers.
2016
After a lifetime in the bakery, Anthony Jenkins stepped back from daily production, with his daughter Angela Moyse continuing the family tradition as Director.
2023
Soothills continued its story by taking on La Boulangerie in Portchester, while the Locks Heath chapter closed and the team returned to Fareham, where the heart of the bakery remains.
